In February of 2019 the long awaited replacement of the Bonner Bridge connecting the southern beaches finally opened. As a treat, before the new bridge, named for the late State Senator Mark Basnight, was opened to traffic, it was opened to the public for the once in a lifetime to walk (or run) across the bridge and take in the views. Hundreds braved the insane cold and strong winds to take advantage.
